April 3, 2010 was the kick-off for our first annual Easter Egg hunt in Miller Park. The preparation started weeks ahead of time with ordering cases of plastic Easter eggs and tons of candy. Most of our neighborhood association assembled in the pavilion to fill the eggs. It was awsome to see the mountains of plastic eggs and chocolate candies piled high on every table with the smell of chocolate permeating the air. It was even more awsome to see the room full of people who showed up to ensure the success of this project. Thousands of eggs were filled that evening and then scattered throughout Miller Park on Saturday morning in preparation for the hunt. There were prizes on hand and a lot of volunteers to make sure things ran smoothly. The children assembled and were greeted by none other than the Easter Bunny himself. When the hunt started the children scrambled in every direction in search of Easter Eggs. Everyone had a wonderful time and the event was a huge success. We are hoping that this will be the first of many to come.

Our World War I Memorial John McKean, our MPML Treasurer and neighbor, had a vision for the World War I memorial. John wanted the flagpole painted, a new flag installed high and proud with appropriate lighting installed. His vision was specific...it had to be done on the OFFICIAL FLAG DAY. We talked about it at the neighborhood association and Mayor Jim Suttle was able to contact Woodman of the World and procured a brand new flag. Neighbors got together on the "official" Flag Day to paint the pole, install the lighting and the flag. It all came together beautifully with John McKean heading up the project. Thank you to everyone who helped John's vision come to fruition. Double Click On The 1St Picture To Start A Slide Show...

Clean Solutions Omaha
Omaha is faced with an unfunded federal mandate that requires a reduction in the number of sewer overflows into the Missouri River and papillion Creek. This means that the sewers have to separate the sewer water from the rain water, so that only the sewer water is treated. This also means a drastic increase in what you will be paying MUD for sewer and water. The next meeting will be held August 18th from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. at the OPS TAC Building, 3215 Cuming St. Please attend this meeting and contribute your voice to the project before it's too late! The draft report for the Long Term Control Plan for the Omaha Combined Sewer Overflow CSO Control Program can be downloaded from their website at: www.OmahaCSO.com .For more information call: 402-341-0235 or
